Side Dishes
Sooooo, anyone have good summer/spring side dishes? That's the place I sometimes fall down on when it comes to sides that work well when grilling or you don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.
I'd be the wrong person to ask because to me a side-dish typically consists of steamed veggies, cous-cous, a salad of some variety or orzo pasta if I'm feeling daring ;) Have you ever had the black-bean/corn salad? Its great and would probably go with BBQ or any summer foods well- and can double as a dip for tortilla chips!
we eat a lot of steamed veggies too. other ideas are fruit salad (i love just strawberries, pineapple, blueberries and grapes mixed together), caprese salad, greek salad. mmmm, i'm glad it's almost lunchtime because this is making me hungry. :-)
my most recent obsession is roasted brussel sprouts, they are sooo yum. i cut them into quarters and toss them with olive oil and lemon pepper and stick them in the oven at 400 for about 10-15 minutes.
