To go Vegetarian or not?

No, not me, sillies!

Here's my question, we're thinking of having two couples from our new neighborhood over for dinner this weekend. One of the couples are both vegetarians. So, I'm leaning toward a vegetarian meal for everyone. Would you do all vegetarian or would you do some meat also for us and for the other couple??? We're fine going meatless but it's hard to say what other people like. Thoughts?

The menu we're going with so far is:

Apps: Feta Spread with Pita, Fruit and Veggie Kebabs

Dinner: Greek Horiatiki Salad, Spinach Squares, Olives, (Something else??)

Dessert: My Chocoloate Cake

I would say do meat for you guys and the other couple. That is the great thing about kebabs. You can do all kinds of things that appeal to all kinds of people. You can marinate them seperately with all of your other veggies and then everyone is happy.

Plus, men likely their meat. Anthony would be less than excited at the prospect of a meatless meal.

Well if it was me I would just do vegetarian for everyone- its easier, plus being a meat-eater myself I also love a change and eat veggie meals once in awhile too! Menu sounds delish as is- I love your fruit kebabs, such a cute idea..and you'll need to publish your famous chocolate cake recipe!

Oops! I said the exact opposite as Amanda! ;) Luckily for me, John is one of very few men who I can satisfy or perhaps trick into not having meat at every meal!

I should have read your message again before posting! Oops. That's what you get for reading blogs when you should be working.

What I was suggesting was if you were doing kebabs for your main entree. That way meat eaters and veggie eaters are satisfied. I agree with Mollie on the cake recipe!

Thanks for your QUICK input ladies.

I hear what you're both saying which is why I keep going back and forth. :-)

Cake recipe will be posted for sure at some point in the near future.

i'm going to break the tie and say that i would probably agree with amanda and vote for some kind of meat for the meat eaters. maybe you could do that greek chicken you've told me about?? or if you wanted to do something totally veggie, maybe add some kind of pasta so there's more of a main dish?

I'm with the meat crowd too. If it's no problem to whip up both a meat and vegetarian dish, go that route. I think both meat eaters and vegetarians alike expect meat to be served. The vegetarians just bypass it.

Of course, this is coming from a meat eater. :)
